Canon Jim Duxbury

There is always an element of sadness when someone dies, especially someone who you have counted as a friend. So it is with a degree of sadness that I write that Canon Jim Duxbury died in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a long illness. There will be a service of thanksgiving for his life at St Mary Magdalene, Clitheroe Parish Church, on Thursday 20th July 2017 where Jim and Patricia have worshipped since Jim’s retirement from St Leonard’s Padiham. He did not, however, retire from full-time ministry, continuing the work he was ordained to in 1962.

There will be a lot more to be said about Jim but for now let me just say that as well as the sadness, there is for me a huge sense of privilege in knowing Jim and working and praying with him and above the deep joy of knowing that he is now with the Lord he served and loved in life.
