Words music and lights to mark the presentation of Jesus in the Temple
As we leave behind the Christmas season the words of Simeon remind us that Jesus is “a light to lighten the Gentiles and…. the glory of thy people Israel”.
Come and join our Candlemas celebration at 5 pm on Sunday, January 29th. The service will last about an hour.
Congregational music will include the hymns Longing for Light, Faithful vigil ended and Praise to the Holiest in the height.
Choir music will include Hail gladdening light (Stainer), Psalm 24 to a setting by Barnaby, O thou the central orb (Wood) and the Nunc Dimittis (Stanford in G)
And there will be candles for everyone!
