Holy Week and Easter Services and Events April 2022

Joint services and events – All free entry and no booking required

Wednesday 13th April – 7 pm at Trinity Methodist Church: ‘The Vigil’ – an Easter play in 3 acts.

Good Friday 15th April – 10.30 am at St. Mary Magdalene’s: ‘The Cross of Christ” – a devotion for choir and congregation, followed by the Walk of Witness to the Castle grounds.

12 noon Short open air service near the Castle gates.

Services at individual churches

All Holy Week (and Easter week too)

St. Paul’s Low Moor and Christ Church Chatburn – “Experience Easter Outside” – Reflect on the Easter story as you journey round the church grounds. Leaflet available from each church.

Maundy Thursday 14th April

12.30 pm at the United Reformed Church: Short service of reflection followed by optional soup lunch.

7 pm at St. Michael and St. John’s: Mass of the Lord’s Supper

7.30 pm at St. Paul’s Low Moor: Holy Communion

Good Friday 15th April

10.30 am at St. Mary Magdalene’s: Joint service – see above

10.30 am at St. James’: interactive Family Service with games, crafts and activities

11 am at St. Mary’s Sabden: Stations of the Cross

11 am at St. Hubert’s Dunsop Bridge: Stations of the Cross

1 – 3 pm at the Salvation Army: Vigil at the Cross with Prayer Stations and Easter videos

3 pm at St. Michael and St. John’s: The Passion of the Lord

Holy Saturday, 16th April

2pm-4pm in Clitheroe Castle Grounds: The Wonder of Easter – explore the events of Holy Week with those who were there, through drama and multisensory activities. Resourced by St. James’ church.

6.30 pm at St. Michael and St. John’s: Easter Vigil

Easter Day, Sunday April 17th
