Help to knit 900 blanket squares

Latest news  – We had a great time and splendid refreshments at the square knitting party. We now are one third of the way there with about 300 squares and the first blanket has been mapped out.

Please keep knitting!

Squares should be 4 inches in size and made from washable double knitting yarn in any colour.

There is a helpful video  How to Knit a Blanket Square. – YouTube which shows a method giving a good firm edge.

Corner to corner squares for the 900 challenge:

Cast on 2 st

Row 1 Slip 1, knit into front and back of next st (kfb)

Row 2 Slip 1, kbf, knit to end

Repeat until side of square measures 4in.

Knit one row

Next row Slip1, k2tog, knit to end

Repeat until 4 st remain

K2tog, k2tog

Pass 1st st over2nd st, cut off yarn and pull through loop to fasten off.
