On Tuesday 5th November we are very proud to welcome John Robinson, the new Organist and Director of Music at Blackburn Cathedral, to give our lunchtime organ recital.

John Robinson began musical life as a Chorister at Hereford Cathedral, where he continued at the Cathedral School as an organ pupil of Dr. Roy Massey MBE. Following Organ Scholarships at Canterbury Cathedral and St. John’s College Cambridge, he was Assistant Director of Music at Carlisle and Canterbury Cathedrals.

He has made numerous recordings as Organ accompanist, Organ Soloist, and as Choir Director, on labels including Hyperion, Decca, Sony Classical, and Priory. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists

For the last 9 years John has been Director of Music at St. Paul’s Choir School, Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He took up the post of Organist and Director of Music at Blackburn Cathedral in September this year.

This will be John’s first recital for a church within his new Diocese of Blackburn.

Please come and support him and bring others!
